Conceal Dental Damage With Porcelain Veneers
Glow-up your confidence with porcelain veneers at Accent Smile Center.
Do you have unsightly chips or cracks in your enamel? If these marks are visible when you speak, it can greatly affect your self-confidence. Dr. Ford Gatgens and his expert team can shield those teeth from you, giving you a healthy, confident smile.
What Are Porcelain Veneers?
So what exactly are veneers? They’re thin pieces of porcelain that are used to create a natural-looking tooth. That’s why it’s important to work with a dentist like Dr. Gatgens at Accent Smile Center in Dickson, TN & Belle Meade (serving the Nashville area too).
A porcelain veneer is a thin shell of ceramic that looks like natural enamel and is made to hide a chipped or otherwise damaged tooth. The materials used to create porcelain veneers are durable and stronger than real teeth.
Porcelain veneers are also stronger and more resilient than your tooth’s natural enamel. For the most part, porcelain veneers are long-lasting options compared to bonding depending on habits and any trauma a person may experience.
These veneers can even reflect light in the same manner as unaltered teeth do so that a cosmetically enhanced tooth is indistinguishable from the rest. We can permanently place porcelain veneers to revitalize your smile.
They’re custom–made in a dental lab, so you can get the veneers that match perfectly with your mouth.
They don’t stain and require no extra maintenance. You brush, floss, and do everything else as you would with natural teeth
Porcelain veneers can really transform a smile, making you want to showcase those pearly whites. They’re really popular among celebrities and those that prefer a picture-perfect smile. You need an experienced dentist who can give you natural-looking results.
The Process
You’ll come to our Dickson dental or Belle Meade office for an initial examination. During this appointment, we’ll take careful notes on the size, shape, and general coloring of other teeth in your smile.
These records will be sent to the licensed dental ceramist who will craft your porcelain veneers so that your restoration can be made to blend well with your smile. When we receive your order, we’ll call you back to the office so that we can place your porcelain veneers.
A member of the team will shade a dental composite to match your enamel and use this to permanently attach your porcelain veneers. People who have porcelain veneers are able to eat and drink normally because they are made to last.
Porcelain veneers are resistant to stains and won’t darken over time as normal teeth can. If you were also considering having your teeth professionally whitened, please ask about this service prior to or during your first consultation with us. This way, your veneers can be created to match your bright look.
Are Veneers Right for You?
We use porcelain veneers for various reasons in cosmetic dentistry. If you have a fractured tooth, a chipped tooth, a gap between teeth, or even if a tooth’s position has changed, veneers can help you regain a beautiful smile.
Also, for more minor teeth problems such as poor color, poor shape, or contour of a tooth can be fixed with porcelain veneers. For some, teeth whitening isn’t a success. Porcelain might be able to make a big difference in color.
Porcelain veneers consist of a compilation of thin ceramic layers plus an adhesive layer. By shaving off a bit of the enamel, a dentist makes room for the porcelain veneer to fit within your mouth.
Before making any decision regarding your dental treatment, consult with your dentist to figure out what’s best for you. Porcelain veneers aren’t a one-size-fits-all solution.
Figure out what you’re looking for in cosmetic dentistry and your expectations. Dr. Gatgens and his team of dental assistants will perform a smile analysis since veneers can require your natural tooth enamel be removed, only less than one millimeter.
It’s important you work with an experienced dentist like Dickson & Belle Meade dentist Dr. Gatgens since a perfect fit is needed to restore all functions from chewing to talking and everything else your mouth is responsible for. Light-sensitive resin is used to create a strong bond between your natural tooth and the porcelain veneer.
However, here at Accent Smile Center, we are trained to perform minimally invasive or prepless veneers called Duration Veneers. You may be a candidate for this procedure, which can restore your beautiful smile and help you get the smile you have always dreamed of having.
